Lock your Vehicle and remove your valuables

The increased population on the Bellarine Peninsula during the summer months warrants extra diligence with locking your vehicle and removing valuables.
The offence of theft from motor vehicle is opportunistic. Remove the opportunity and the offence can simply not occur. Yet 50 to 60 per cent of all reported theft from motor vehicles have no sign of forced entry and 100 per cent of those had something in the vehicle to steal. Get into a routine every evening to check your car is locked and you have your valuables inside. Don't become a victim of something that can be simply prevented.
